2023 Kia Sorento Review

2023 Kia Sorento Review

2023 Kia Sorento Review - With its spacious interior and impressive fuel economy in hybrid form, the 2023 Kia Sorento is a no-brainer as a family transporter.

What does a 2023 Kia Sorento look like? In what ways is it similar to/different from...?

Comparable in size to the Nissan Rogue and the Ford Explorer, the 2023 Kia Sorento is a three-row crossover SUV.

Should you buy a 2023 Kia Sorento?

If you can get past a few confusing elements, this sensible option offers a roomy cabin and attractive fuel economy of 30 mpg or more. On the TCC scale, it receives a 6.3. (For more on our car rating system, see here.)

Just what improvements have been made to the 2023 Kia Sorento?

There aren't many changes made to the Sorento for the new model year.

However, there are just three rows of seating in this crossover SUV. Its bold appearance is the result of blending several different design ideas. That's the exterior, by the way. The interior is an assault on the senses, but it's roomy and the standard 10.3-inch touchscreen works great.

The gas-only models offer an option between a 2.5-liter inline-4 producing 191 horsepower or a 281-horsepower turbo-4. Hybrids are available with either 227 horsepower or 261 horsepower in a plug-in configuration, covering 32 miles on a single charge.

Not only do hybrids give greater than 30 mpg combined, but they also have other advantages that make them our top picks. They complement the 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, which can be difficult to use in turbo-4 vehicles. Additionally, the availability of all-wheel drive as an option may boost sales in regions with harsh winters.

There's plenty of room for four adults inside the Sorento, and everyone will enjoy the same level of mainstream luxury. Synthetic upholstery is standard, however fabric and genuine leather are also available. A great infotainment system, which includes wireless smartphone connectivity as standard, is almost hidden by the crowded dashboard. Furthermore, there are numerous USB ports available, including some that have connectors installed in the backs of the front seats.

The 2023 Sorento performs admirably in IIHS crash tests but falls short in NHTSA evaluations. Most models also include adaptive cruise control, lane departure alerts with braking, and blind spot monitors, and the included automatic emergency braking helps mitigate the impact.

What is the price of a 2023 Kia Sorento?

We don't know for sure, but we may assume that the basic price of a 2023 Sorento LX with alloy wheels, leather seats, and an 8.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility will remain about $31,000.

Considering the EX's synthetic leather upholstery, larger 10.3-inch display, and power-adjustable driver's seat, we think it's the better buy. The cost of a hybrid with all-wheel drive remains under $40,000 if you make that choice.
